Korean Fast Food - JinJja Chicken

The Story

Jinjja Chicken is a fast food restaurant operating with the vision of taking the idea of fast casual dining beyond just fried chicken and fries. They serve up familiar, uniquely Korean meal fixes whipped up with daily staples such as noodles and rice – comparable to what burgers and sandwiches are to the West and everything is halal! While it's a known fact that fast food is usually bad for you, Jinjja Chicken aims to change that notion by avoiding excessive use of preservatives, additives and overly processed ingredients whenever possible.

The Place

The interior of Jinjja Chicken is fun, hip and loud but not over bearing. The vibrant reds and yellows of the place look super inviting and K-pop music and music videos are played throughout the place, sure to excite the K-pop fans. I imagine this to be the kind of place that youngsters would love to hang out with their friends and surprise and please the average adult with the easy-going and relaxed vibe.

The Menu

Jinjja Chicken serves a variety of food items, beverages and deserts; all of which look worthy of a Korean restaurant. They have stews, burgers, rice dishes, noodle dishes, porridge, toast and of course, Korean fried chicken. For the health conscious, they have salads too!

Best known for their Korean Fried Chicken and Jajangmyeon, they aim to be your one-stop fix of everything Korean and make you question "Jinjja? I'm not in Korea?"

Jajangmyeon is a traditional Korean noodle dish that is served with black bean sauce. You've probably seen this in every single K-drama ever. It's one of their best sellers, understandably. It's not too salty and the nuggets of black beans introduce an explosion of flavours along with the chewy texture of the noodles. It's a dish that's extremely easy to slurp up and sure to satisfy your hunger pangs.

Made with 100% fresh chicken, their crispy and juicy fried chicken comes coated in the flavour of your choice. It comes in 3 flavours - Soy Garlic, their most popular option, YangNyeom, a Korean thick spicy sauce and a Monster Sauce for the spice-meisters. Craving wings but sick of the plain old seasoning? Try the 3 differences sauces and find out your favourite. Are you up for the Monster Spice?

Their bulgogi burger uses 100% Grain Fed Beef patties with a Korean twist of kimchi slaw for a slightly spicy kick. You also have the option to have it with regular coleslaw if you want to fully indulge yourself in the rich, succulent flavour of the beef.

Their seafood jjamppong is rich and packed with robust flavours, topped with assorted seafood such as clams and squid. The red hot spicy seafood noodle soup is sure to warm you up right down to your soul, perfect for colder weather.

Another available option is their Kimbap, which are seaweed rice rolls with chicken or bulgogi beef (US ribeye), cheese, romaine lettuce, Korean pickles and carrots. Flavourful, healthy and filling, it's the perfect meal for when you're looking to eat something a little lighter and not as sinful as the other options.

The wide variety really leaves one spoilt for choice. There simply is something for everyone. Whether you're craving savoury fried food or warm and comforting soup dishes, Jinjja Chicken has it all!

Do take note that their breakfast menu only runs from 4am - 10am and is only available at their Changi Airport T2 outlet.
